Motorola Edge 30 Ultra First Impressions

Motorola has just launched its first ‘Ultra' smartphone. The Edge 30 Ultra packs exciting hardware and is the first smartphone to include a 200-megapixel primary camera.

On the front and back panels of the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is used. The rear panel's anti-glare edges are curved, however, it seems flat towards the top and bottom. It features a distinctive texture that deters fingerprints well, much like the Vivo X80 Pro, which has a shimmering look in solid light.

The software experience was, in my opinion, a bit of a jumble. Since I first set up my device, the firmware has been rather unreliable, necessitating numerous reboots. This was most noticeable while I was using the camera app and charging the phone, but occasionally it would reboot on its own while I was just using it inactively.

Motorola claims to be aware of the problem, but it's still unclear whether it only affects part of the review units sent in India or whether it affects more of them.

The iQoo 9T 5G and the OnePlus 10T 5G are two smartphones that compete with the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra at the moment and use the same Qualcomm SoC. Additionally, we offer a few slightly earlier models from this year, including the Xiaomi 12 Pro.

Thanks to several special features not seen on other competing products, such as the 200-megapixel camera, a 144Hz OLED display, and an official IP certification, the Edge 30 Ultra can hold its own.
